Black Ichor
Middle America. Twenty years after the collapse. The panic is long over. Sirens faded years ago. What remains is reclamation—cracked highways sinking into wetlands, strip malls gutted and wrapped in kudzu, towns reduced to quiet, hollow shells.
BLACK ICHOR is a text-based survival experience grounded in material reality.
You are not a panicked victim or a chosen hero. You are someone who endured. You survived two decades in a fortified place, learned the rhythms of a ruined world, and adapted to its slow violence. You are competent. You are cautious. And the systems that kept you alive are beginning to fail.

📂 EXCERPT_LOG_01
The flashlight beam slices through the gloom, illuminating dust motes dancing in the stagnant air. The threshold is crossed. The temperature plummets further.
The storage room is a concrete box, ten feet by twelve. The smell of copper and ozone is suffocating here, masking the underlying rot. Metal shelving units have been shoved against the far wall, forming a chaotic barricade that failed long ago.
The source of the dripping is a diagonal fissure in the north wall. A thick, obsidian fluid—the Ichor—weeps from the masonry. It moves with a sluggish, unnatural viscosity, pooling on the cracked concrete floor. The puddle does not reflect light; it absorbs it.
In the center of the black pool, a shape rests against a fallen shelf. A human torso, clad in the tattered remains of a grey work uniform. The legs are gone, dissolved or submerged in the fluid. The skin is pale, translucent, and veined with black.
The head lolls forward. As the light hits it, the neck muscles spasm. A wet, rattling gasp creates a bubble of black bile at the creature's lips. It begins to push itself up with one skeletal arm.

SCAVENGE
Keep the supply counter above zero to avoid system failure.
FORTIFY
Build and upgrade your base to withstand the encroaching Ichor.
👁️ THE SYSTEM
The narrator is impartial. It describes the world in concrete, physical terms—rust, damp, vibration, and light. It does not care if you survive.
- The Threat: "Hollows" (human shapes animated by black fluid) and "The Ichor" (environmental corruption). They are rare now, but never gone.
- Survival Metrics: Manage Pressure (environmental instability) and Noise. High noise draws the Hollows.
- Scarcity Mechanics: Starvation is the true enemy. When supplies drop below 20, rationing begins. At 0, the body fails.
- Analog Interface: A minimalist, terminal-based UI acting as your only window into the decay.

"The supply cabinet is nearly empty. Three cans of food remain. No medicine. The winter was hard. The town has not been visited in six years. It is a calculated risk."
